Dick Ryon

Position: Co-Chairperson
Term: December 2016 - December 2020
Appointing Authority: General Election

My wife and I plus two toddlers settled in Livermore, CA in 1964, where I was a scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 36 years. We continue to live in Livermore, now for 55 years.

We completed construction of our Fish Camp home in 1990. We acquired our lot in 1985, shortly after I completed a 3-week trek of the John Muir Trail and was inspired to spend more time in the mountains. Peace and quiet, friendships, hiking, cross-country skiing, and nearness to Yosemite keep us coming back to this little paradise.

Approaching my 80th birthday and with major District goals achieved, I decided to retire from my chairmanship of the District. I am delighted to be replaced by highly competent and dedicated Board Member Karen Green. I will continue to serve as a Director until my term expires in year 2020. It has been an honor to be entrusted by District members with the responsibility to chair the district for the last decade.
